Ferry Facts: Shipyard March Chronicles
M/V New Jersey Upgrades ContinueNow that March is complete, we can take a look at some of the continued shipyard work and status of the M/V New Jersey as of the end of the first quarter of 2021. Much of the work concentrated on the less glamorous portions of the vessel rebuild including wiring, piping, water lines and sewage upgrades. A lot of work continued under the hull with new navigation replacements, and the salon continued to be prepped for new furniture and new food and retail counters and displays.
This past month concentrated on the "Connections That Move" the boat from the bridge to the engineering room and under the hull. Most of the work will never be seen by passengers or crew, but is vital to the smooth operation of the boat. Take a look at this newest selection of photos sent back to Cape May from Assistant Port Engineer Mike Lynch.
If you're tired of the deconstruction pictures, see below for the new salon galley furniture received and being readied for installation in April!
