Captain Meghan Palmer

A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, Captain Palmer joined the Ferry team as an Ordinary Seaman in 2012 and worked her way up from there. She began "sailing up" as a Captain in 2018, and became a full-fledged permanent Captain in 2020, joining Captains Sharon Urban and Melissa Velli as members of an all-female permanent Captain's wheelhouse.

Captain Palmer holds a degree in Logistic and Intermodal Transportation, played basketball in college, has two dogs, two daughters, and is the driving force behind the Marine Crew's Instagram account, @marinecrewviews.
